“Hello, my name is Adrian. I work with Harness Racing Victoria

in Melbourne, Australia and am a huge fan of Asafa. So much so that

back in early 2005 after my horse trainer picked out a horse for me to

buy at the yearling sales that I named him Asafa. He was big and black

and we were hoping he was fast, which he has turned out to be. He has

won 8 races to date.

When he first started racing he had a symmetry with Asafa, when Asafa

the runner would win, Asafa the horse would win, in fact when his

world record was equaled, Asafa the horse dead heated for first the

following day. A news story was actually made and aired on a TV

station here about it, just before Asafa came to Melbourne for the

Commonwealth Games. Myself, my trainer and her family all went to the

Commonwealth Games and cheered Asafa on and his Gold Medal winning run

was awesome.”

”Recently, Asafa Powell came to Japan to compete in the IAAF championships in Osaka and my students became even more inspired to work hard to achieve their dreams and to become as successful as Powell (even though he was outrun by Gay). Since then, Powell has become a local hero with pictures popping up all over the school and more and more I am being bombarded with "Asafa Powell" questions…I am still beaming with pride because of how he (Powell) has inspired my Japanese students”

“Asafa,

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say that I am a big fan of your.  I haven't run track since my freshman year of college back in 91, but I do try to keep up with the sport from time to time.  What does 2008 hold in store for you. I know that in 07 you were plagues with a lot of injuries, but I hope that you will be making some positives moves in 2008.  Hope to hear back from you.

Always,

Marcus”

You insired even more yesterday
Hey Asafa,
Too bad for the result, but u proved you are bigger than winning/losing. You are one of few great sports men with a big heart and that is gracious and thankful to God even in defeat and for that the Lord will reward you.

Keep the faith for 2009, you know what you have to do! You are a true inspiration to countless and not just the Jamaican nation/athletics lovers.

God bless

Asafa you are still the best!!
Asafa, you are one of the greatest athletes of all times. You have helped to put us where we are. I am happy that Jamaica won the gold medal, I would have been happier if it was won by you. However, you can still break this record if you want to. The olympic pressure is now off. You will move on to bigger and better...Your race has only just begun. My family and I are HUGE Asafa fans! We are praying for you... Keep humble and God will do the rest. You were in our prayers at Church today. WE LOVE YOU ASAFA...DON'T BE DISCOURAGED!!

God bless you!

Luv u forever Asafa
Asafa, This is one of my favourite quotes by Carl Jung. "Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens".
Look inside yourself, tell the Lord what you need, let Him be your Guide....ALWAYS! God bless you continually. You have made Jamaica proud and don't you ever forget that! I surely haven't. We luv u lots!
