“Hello, my name is Adrian. I work with Harness Racing Victoria

in Melbourne, Australia and am a huge fan of Asafa. So much so that

back in early 2005 after my horse trainer picked out a horse for me to

buy at the yearling sales that I named him Asafa. He was big and black

and we were hoping he was fast, which he has turned out to be. He has

won 8 races to date.

When he first started racing he had a symmetry with Asafa, when Asafa

the runner would win, Asafa the horse would win, in fact when his

world record was equaled, Asafa the horse dead heated for first the

following day. A news story was actually made and aired on a TV

station here about it, just before Asafa came to Melbourne for the

Commonwealth Games. Myself, my trainer and her family all went to the

Commonwealth Games and cheered Asafa on and his Gold Medal winning run

was awesome.”

”Recently, Asafa Powell came to Japan to compete in the IAAF championships in Osaka and my students became even more inspired to work hard to achieve their dreams and to become as successful as Powell (even though he was outrun by Gay). Since then, Powell has become a local hero with pictures popping up all over the school and more and more I am being bombarded with "Asafa Powell" questions…I am still beaming with pride because of how he (Powell) has inspired my Japanese students”

“Asafa,

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say that I am a big fan of your.  I haven't run track since my freshman year of college back in 91, but I do try to keep up with the sport from time to time.  What does 2008 hold in store for you. I know that in 07 you were plagues with a lot of injuries, but I hope that you will be making some positives moves in 2008.  Hope to hear back from you.

Always,

Marcus”

YESSS!!!
Great Run yute, Nice to see the Jamaicans starring up the Track and Field show. In terms of the Olympics and the WC I can understand that you may feel the pressure of the whole nation on your shoulders but I can assure you we are not. We are more likely to be beside you rather than on your shoulder. There is no doubt that you have the physical ability in fact your technique is perfect as demonstrated in your race today. I also think that you are allowed to lighten up a few times like your dancing after the relay race. Those are good....you a good yute and I just want history to be kind to you as a student of the sport and also as a Jamaican. Gwaan par wid Bolt same way...he is a good yute to par wid. Blessed

Perseverance
Hi Asafa,
It would seems as if when we lease expect it you surprise us, well some was surprise but not me. I knew it all along, as I have been saying in past comments. A man with such discipline, determination and God trusting must succeed and fulfil this destiny. What a spectacular run, keep it up and you will be the world's fastest man once again. The lord encampeth round about them that fear him.Next race: Do your best and have FUN.
Stay Sweet,

Perseverance
Hey Asafa,

Just want to say good run during the olympics, you made many Jamaicans like myself very proud. You will remain my favourite sportsman. Keep up the good work, remain humble and sweet. You can break 9.69 just believe in you and keep the faith. I\'m expecting nothing but a top performance at the Golden League. Good Luck!

Good luck
Just wanting to say good luck in the Memeorial Van Damme tomorrow. It would seems at this moment that you would be competing against the fastest men in the world, however they are the ones competing against the fastest man in the world, I believe you are, and if you believe in yourself the unbelievable you will achieve.Go out there do you, beacause nobody does it better. And have FUN while you're at it. Good Luck again and see you when you get back a yard, hopefully.
Juanita
